hi peeps...yup...mouth-watering pics again?heez...forgot to take the chic wings though...haaz...met up with Leon's frens for dinner...nice bunch of peeps...heez...at first thought will be kinda paiseh cos do not noe them...but everything goes well...xiao mei is Leon's gan mei mei...interesting gal...especially the way she laughs...unique...hmmmz...oh yah...guess wat?it's like i think 2nd or 3rd time in my 21yrs of life that i visited Ikea...sua ku rite? mayb i dont travel that far for no reason..plus no purpose for me to go Ikea...at least this meet up is for dinner...haaz...hmmm...some comments about what are sold at Ikea...the soft toys sold there are really ugly...mayb don't use the word ugly lah...juz not really pleasing to the eyes...haaz...some are really weird...wonder will people really buy it...haaz...and i feel that the furnitures and other stuffs there are not as fantastic as i thought it was...i've always have the thought that they sell very unique and nice furnitures...but guess i'm wrong (own point of view though)...

anyway...giving comments time...how do you pronounce IKEA?
for mi, i pronounce it as I - K - Ee - a (each pronounced as its respective alphabets except for 'a' where it sounds like 'a dog' or maybe 'er' without the 'rr' sound...i used to pronounce it as EeKia...a language all singaporeans understand...but it is wrong...this is cos' it happened that my Australian lecturer brought in a video clip on entrepreneurs for us to watch...one of the entrepreneurs is the founder of Ikea...and he pronounced it as the way i now pronounce it as...but as usual...when i said it that way...most people became 'blur'...haaz...then i will have to use the singaporean language...anyway would like to know which is actually the correct pronunciation?

there's another word where people always mispronounce...Salmon...people always pronounce it as SELLMON...but IT IS WRONG! my GP tution teacher used to tell me that the 'l' should not be read out...i always correct people...but they just dont listen..oh well...i did help...but...haaz...

anyway...will stop here...hope this doesnt bore you...heez...

take care n God Bless~~

Nothing is Impossible...

An 80 year old man was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his 45 years old highly educated son. Suddenly a crow perched on their window.

The Father asked his Son, "What is this?"

The Son replied "It is a crow".

After a few minutes, the Father asked his Son the 2nd time, "What is this?"

The Son said "Father, I have just now told you "It's a crow".

After a little while, the old Father again asked his Son the 3rd time, what is this?"

At this time some _expression of irritation was felt in the Son's tone when he said to his Father with a rebuff..

"It's a crow, a crow".

A little after, the Father again asked his Son t he 4th time, "What is this?"

This time the Son shouted at his Father, "Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again, although I have told you so many times 'IT IS A CROW'. Are you not able to understand this?"

A little later the Father went to his room and came back with an old tattered diary, which he had maintained since his Son was born. On opening a page, he asked his Son to read that page. When the son read it, the following words were written in the diary :-

"Today my little son aged three was sitting with me on the sofa, when a crow was sitting on the window. My Son asked me 23 times what it was, and I replied to him all 23 times that it was a Crow. I hugged him lovingly each time he asked me the same question again and again for 23 times.

I did not at all feel irritated I rather felt affection for my innocent child".

While the little child asked him 23 times "What is this", the Father had felt no irritation in replying to the same question all 23 times and When today the Father asked his Son the same question just 4 times, the Son felt irritated and annoyed.

So..

If your parents attain old age, do not repulse them or look at them as a burden, but speak to them a gracious word, be cool, obedient, humble And kind to them. Be considerate to your parents.

From today say this aloud,

"I want to see my parents happy forever. They have cared for me ever since I was a little child.

They have always showered their selfless love on me.

They crossed all mountains and valleys without seeing the storm and heat to make me a person presentable in the society today".

Nothing in this world is IMPOSSIBLE , coz the word IMPOSSIBLE itself says I M POSSIBLE..

Yupz...hmm...what happened...hmmm...oh yah...bought a pocket pc on the 1st week of june...wanted one since last year...saved up...and got it...yup...happy that i got it...cos i downloaded a bible inside...more convenient for me...heez...and now i became more attentive during services...cos' i took notes...unlike last time where i juz sit and listen and forget (and sometimes sleep)...hahahaz...yup...that's the detail about my new toy...

Hmmm...what's next? hmmm..yah...really spent alot on medical bills this month...in fact is within 2 weeks...spent like 500plus on consultation and medication...damn ex man...argghhh...and the fact that i have to pay them myself...no choice...cos' i'm working...should be able to afford it myself...but really...heartpain...that sum of money i can either save it up or go shopping lor! nvm...for my health...no choice...(stoooopid gastritis)...

Can't remember much...but yup...just ended my exams on the 20th...exams dates on 19th and 20th...haa...2 papers (2modules)...hmmm...don't know how well i will fair...hoped to be confident...but unable to be confident...guess will just have to wait till my results are out...hmmm...actually for this term's exams...i did not really study much...but i really want to thank Benjamin and Hui Min and even Karen to come up with the notes(to bring into the exam hall)...they met up to discuss and compile...I did try my best to do my part...but guess they think it's wrong(not totally though)...i'm really bad in studies lah...can't blame me...oops...hee...anyway...they are still so nice...to let me have the notes as well...thanks friends! oh yah...that's for Strategic Management...then for Entrepreneurship...we are actually given the questions beforehand...only that we will have to prepare them ourselves...and memorise(which i'm super bad at!)...in the exams we are to do 5 questions but our lecturer gave us seven...den i act smart...go spot 5 questions...in the end 4 of which i studied came out...the other 1 i left it nearly blank...only a couple of sentences written...heez...but really want to thank a group of classmates whom i have not talked to before...luckily i reached early...and they too reached early...and i happened to talk to them...and asked questions about what answers they will be writing...and i realised that one of the questions i got the answer prepared wrongly...and i quickly studied that part again...Thank God that i managed to remember most of them...heez...and really thank them for helping...hee...oh yah...forgot to say this part...the fact that i feel i did not really study much is cos' on Monday (SM paper) i only juz read thru abit...and then went into the exam hall...on Tuesday (E paper)...even worse...cos' i went over to Toa Payoh find my colleagues for lunch...cos sum1's bdae...thereafter i went down to suntec to purchase my new HP...N6280...hee...wanted N80...but too ex...so get a similar looking one...and cheaper...haaz...then i still went shopping...then head to school...did not study much lor...rite?haaz...hmmm...

Wow...i skipped quite fast...now i'm going to talk about Friday...which was 2 days ago...hee...yah...after exams onli left 3 days or less than that...to study for my Advance Theory...and guess what? i FAILED...sianz man...i was so confident to pass though...but when the screen showed FAILED...i was like...'WHAT??!!...sian...'...hahahhaa...then i walked off...still in shock...hahahaz...then at night...we had D&D...my 3rd D&D that i went in this 1yr and abt 9mths of my stay in UOB...heez...it's held at Suntec Convention Hall...approx 2500 people went...split up into 4 regions(btw the theme is on World Cup)...Germany(host ctry), England,Japan, and Brazil...i was in the England region...we were suppose to dress up into anything that associate with England...my table was supposed to join the Best Dress competition...so we all personally design our outfit...it was a white top...with 2 red stripes at the side...plus an England emblem at the side...then a white skirt...and either white or red or both, shoes...we also had a white hat(duno the name of that kind)with a red cross across it...using ribbons...and guess what?when me and a colleague of mine went to take a cab...the uncle asked whether we are selling beer... -__-'''' arrghhh...can't believe it man...haaz...anyway...the event was quite fun...our table of girls kept cheering and running about...and guess what? we won the Best Dressed award! for England zone though...each zone one winner...but it was great! and we were like up on stage...and our photos being taken...heez...it was fun lah...hmmm

Next was about yesterday...Saturday...usual...early morning give tuition...however something different...i went home after that!haaa...went back to clean my room..as in pack some stuff...my books and notes...Alot lor...got Leon to help me with them...then we went for Edge after that...service was good...and yup...happy too...cos Leon accepted Christ...The Lord is really doing work in him...at first thought that he only believe...but not yet the time to accept...but yup..he accepted...really happy...y?cos the most wonderful thing in life is to know God, know Jesus...and too...believe in Him...cos He is Always there for you...He answers prayers...He blesses you...He Protects you...we ought to be thankful for all these...i just pray that this will not stop only at the accepting part...i pray that Leon will continue to grow spiritually...keep on wanting more of Him...and burn for God...and also to serve God(in the ministries)...faithfuly...and also to attend classes to grow too...oh yah...and also pray that there will be someone capable to guide him thru these period of growing...and also that God will protect him from the devil attacking(where the devil will make him doubt christianity cos he's still new to it)...yup...hmmm...anyway...after service and after dinner...a group of us 'older ones' went over to Holland V N.Y.D.C. to have desserts..heez..we had fun...left about 11+/12 i guess...

Yup...and it's today! Same...went for service (only that there's no LIW classes-church class, cos the term ended, waiting for the new class to start)...after service...my Net grp had lunch at Glasshouse Fish n Co...filling lunch...it's also a 'farewell' for Serene cos she's leving for Toronto till i think August...sadz...will greatly miss her...hmmm...thereafter... we went for handbilling...1st time in my life to give out soo many phamphlets...each abt 300pcs...and we were supposed to go to blocks of flats...going from door to door and give it to them...this is for the event organised by my church which will be held on Expo on the 15th July 06...it's called Asian Idol...heez...really pray that people will go...so that they will come to know God...yup...tiring...going from every block...up to down...(me in heels)...haaz...thereafter i went for evening service...then we went for dinner at Chomp Chomp...hee...

Anyway...this is part of the details or things that have happened in the past 2 months in which i have yet to update on...(things that i can remember only)...yup...ok...guess will have to stop here...gotta sleep...about 1am already...

A Story worth reading

Breakfast at McDonald's . Please read until the end.

This is a good story and is true, please read it all the way through until the end! (After the story, there are some very interesting facts!):

I am a mother of three (ages 14, 12, 3) and have recently completed my college degree. The last class I had to take was Sociology. The teacher was absolutely inspiring with the qualities that I wish every human being had been graced with. Her last project of the term was called "Smile." The class was asked to go out and smile at three people and document their reactions. I am a very friendly person and always smile at everyone and say hello anyway, so, I thought this would be a piece of cake, literally.

Soon after we were assigned the project, my husband, youngest son, and I went out to McDonald's one crisp March morning. It was just our way of sharing special playtime with our son. We were standing in line, waiting to be served, when all of a sudden everyone around us began to back away, and then even my husband did. I did not move an inch... an overwhelming feeling of panic welled up inside of me as I turned to see why they had moved.

As I turned around I smelled a horrible "dirty body" smell, and there standing behind me were two poor homeless men. As I looked down at the short gentleman, close to me, he was "smiling". His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of God's Light as he searched for acceptance. He said, "Good day" as he counted the few coins he had been clutching.
The second man fumbled with his hands as he stood behind his friend. I realized the second man was mentally challenged and the blue-eyed gentleman was his salvation.

I held my tears as I stood there with them.

The young lady at the counter asked him what they wanted.

He said, "Coffee is all Miss" because that was all they could afford. (If they wanted to sit in the restaurant and warm up, they had to buy something. He just wanted to be warm).

Then I really felt it - the compulsion was so great I almost reached out and embraced the little man with the blue eyes.
That is when I noticed all eyes in the restaurant were set on me, judging my every action. I smiled and asked the young lady behind the counter to give me two more breakfast meals on a separate tray. I then walked around the corner to the table that the men had chosen as a resting spot. I put the tray on the table and laid my hand on the blue-eyed gentleman's cold hand.

He looked up at me, with tears in his eyes, and said, "Thank you."

I leaned over, began to pat his hand and said, "I did not do this for you. God is here working through me to give you hope."

I started to cry as I walked away to join my husband and son. When I sat down my husband smiled at me and said, "That is why God gave you to me, Honey, to give me hope."

We held hands for a moment and at that time, we knew that only because of the Grace that we had been given were we able to give.

We are not church goers, but we are believers. That day showed me the pure Light of God's sweet love.

I returned to college, on the last evening of class, with this story in hand. I turned in "my project" and the instructor read it. Then she looked up at me and said, "Can I share this?" I slowly nodded as she got the attention of the class.
She began to read and that is when I knew that we as human beings and being part of God share this need to heal people and to be healed.

In my own way I had touched the people at McDonald's, my husband, son, instructor, and every soul that shared the classroom on the last night I spent as a college student.

I graduated with one of the biggest lessons I would ever learn: UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE.

Much love and compassion is sent to each and every person who may read this and learn how to
LOVE PEOPLE AND USE THINGS - NOT LOVE THINGS AND USE PEOPLE.

Are u a Good Cook?

You Are a Learning Cook

You've got the makings of an excellent cook, and the desire to be one.
But right now, you're just lacking the experience. You couldn't be a top chef yet, but you could be an apprentice.

Follow HIM!!

Importance of Friends...

One day, when I was a freshman in high school,

I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.
His name was Kyle.

It looked like he was carrying all of his books.

I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd."

I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him.
They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt.

His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.

As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives. " He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!"

There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now.

I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends He said yes.

We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again.

I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday! " He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, ! Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem.

He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak

Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous.
Today was one of those days.

I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!" He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. "! Thanks," he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began "Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends... I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them.

I am going to tell you a story." I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.

"Thankfully, I was saved.

My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable."

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile.

Not until that moment did I realize it's depth. Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life.

For better or for worse.

Feeling Stress?read dis...juz for laughs~

Mental Hospital

Jim and Mary were both patients in a Mental Hospital.
One day, while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool, Jim suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank like a stone to the bottom and stayed there. Mary promptly jumped in to save him. She swam the bottom and pulled him out. When the medical director became aware of Mary's heroic act, he immediately ordered her to be discharged from the hospital, as he now considered her to be mentally stable.

When he went to tell her the news, he said, "Mary, I have good news & bad news. The good news is you're being discharged because since u were able to jump in and save the life of another patient, I think you've regained your senses". "The bad news is that Jim, the patient you saved, hanged himself in the bathroom with the belt of his robe. I am so sorry, but he's dead".

Mary replied, "He didn't hang himself, I put him there to dry"

IQ Test...

Your IQ score is 124!

You've got a very experiential way of learning and a strong mathematical mind and you have mastered the art and science of precision. That's what makes you a Precision Processor. For you, life is a series of equations.

Your brain is naturally predisposed to intense mathematical acuity, so it's second nature for you to cut to the heart of an issue, to discover quick solutions while others get bogged down in unnecessary details. This allows you to communicate a variety of ideas to other people, so don't keep it to yourself.

Truly Inspirational...MUST read!

Dear all

He's hoping to write his first book entitled "No arms, no legs, no

|
> Hi! Friends,
> A Remarkable Story
of God's Grace

> Please read all
> |It says in James
> |1:2 - "Consider it pure joy, my
> |Brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds." | |
> |------------------+----------------------------------------------------+-
> | |......To count our hurt, pain and struggle as nothing but pure joy? As my parents were Christians, and my Dad even a Pastor of our church, they knew that verse very well. However, on the morning of the 4th of December 1982 in Melbourne (Australia), the last two words on the minds of my parents was "Praise God!". Their firstborn son had been born without limbs! There were no warnings or time to prepare themselves for it. The doctors we shocked and had no answers at all! There is still no medical reason why this had happened and Nick now has a Brother and Sister who were born just like any other|baby. |
The whole church mourned over my birth and my parents were absolutely devastated. Everyone asked, "if God is a God of Love, then why would God let something this bad happen to not just anyone, but dedicated Christians?" My Dad thought I wouldn't survive for very long, but tests proved that I was a healthy baby boy just with a few limbs missing. Understandably, my parents had strong concern and evident fears of what kind of life I'd be able to lead. The first biggest hurdle was for my parents to be at peace and trusting that God was in control. It took a number of months of tears, questions and grief before that complete overtook their hearts. God provided them strength, wisdom and courage through those early years and soon after that I was old enough to go to school. There are a few people who assume that because of my physical disability that it meant that I'd also be mentally disabled. The law in Austr alia didn't allow me to be integrated into a main-stream school because of my physical disability. God did miracles and gave my Mom the strength to fight for the law to be changed. I was one of the first disabled students to be integrated into a main-stream school. I liked going to school, and just try to live life like everyone else, but it was in my early years of school where I encountered uncomfortable times of feeling rejected, weird and bullied because of my physical difference. It was very hard for me to get used to, but with the support of my parents, I started to develop attitudes and values which helped me overcome these challenging times. I knew that I was different but on the inside I was just like everyone else. There were many times when I felt so low that I wouldn't go to school just so I didn't have to face all the negative attention. I was encouraged by my parents to ignore them and to try start making friends by just talk ing with some kids. Soon the students realized that I was just like them, and starting there God kept on blessing me with new friends. There were times when I felt depressed and angry because I couldn't change the way I was, or blame anyone for that matter. I went to Sunday School and learnt that God loves us all and that He cares for you. I understood that love to a point as a child, but I didn't understand that if God loved me why did He make me like this? Is it because I did something wrong? I thought I must have because out of all the kids at school, I'm the only weird one. I felt like I was a burden to those around me and the sooner I go, the better it'd be for everyone. I wanted to end my pain and end my life at a young age, but I am thankful once again, for my parents and family who were always there to comfort me and give me strength. Due to my emotional struggles I had experienced with bullying , self esteem and loneliness, God has implanted a passion of sharing my story and experiences to help others cope with whatever challenge they have in their life and let God turn it into a blessing. To encourage and inspire others to live to their fullest potential and not let anything get in the way of accomplishing their hopes and dreams. As I grew older God continued to prepare my heart and teach me to seek Him. One of the first lessons that I have learnt was not to take things for granted. I had that wake up call around the age of twelve and realised just how much I was blessed with. I take my foot for granted, my family and the fact that I wasn't born in a third world country all blessings that God had freely given and I still complain? I came across; Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in all things God works for the best for those who love Him." That verse spoke to my heart and convicted me to the point where that I know that there is no such thing as luck, chance or coincidence that these "bad" things happen in our life. In; James 1:3&4 - "...know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." I had complete peace knowing that God won't let anything happen to us in our life unless He has a good purpose for it all. I completely gave my life to Christ at the age of fifteen after reading John 9. Jesus said that the reason the man was born blind was "so that the works of God may be revealed through Him." I truly believed that God would heal me so I could be a great testimony of His Awesome Power. Later on I was given the wisdom to understand that if we pray for something, if it's God's will, it'll happen in His time. If it's not God's will for it to happen, then I know that He has something better. I now see that Glory revealed as He is using me just the way I am and in ways others can't be used. I am now twenty-one years old and have completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Financial Planning and Accounting. I am also a motivational speaker and love to go out and share my story and testimony wherever opportunities become available. I have developed talks to relate to and encourage students through topics that challenge today's teenagers. I am also a speaker in the corporate sector. For more information on Nick's presen tations go to "Nick's Ministry". In recent years, I have learnt to become independent and can now take care of all my personal needs. I can do everything from brushing my teeth, combing my hair, dressing up, taking care of my personal hygiene and even shaving. I get around the house by jumpin' around and, outside the house, I get around in an electric wheelchair. I love to swim, fish and play soccer. I have a passion for reaching out to youth and keep myself available for whatever God wants me to do, and wherever He leads, I follow. I have many dreams and goals that I have set to achieve in my life. I want to become the best witness I can be of God's Love and Hope, to become an international inspirational speaker and be used as a vessel in both Christian and non-Christian venues. I want to become financially independent by the age of 25, through real estate investments, to modify a car for me to drive and to be interviewed and share my story on the "Oprah Winfrey Show"! Writing several best-selling books has been one of my dreams and I hope to finish writing my first by the end of the year. It will be called "No Arms, No Legs, No Worries!" You might think these goals are too far-fetched. However, I believe that if you have the desire and passion to do something, and if it's God's will, youwill achieve it in good time. As humans, we continually put limits on ourselves for no reason at all! What's worse is putting limits on God who can do all things. We put God in a "box". The awesome thing about the Power of God, is that if we want to do something for God, instead of focusing on our capability, concentrate on our availability for we know that it is God through us and we can't do anything without Him. Once we make ourselves available for God's work, guess whose capabilities we rely on? God's! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 God has a Great Purpose for your life! As far as your unanswered prayers, remember that God is Faithful. What are we to do when we are seeking but not finding? Jeremiah 29:12 - "Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the Lord... Take courage my friend for the Battle is the Lord's and I urge you to keep striving for the truth. For it is the truth that will set you free and the Peace of God that surpasses all understanding will reign in your heart. May the Lord Bless you as you diligently seek Him and grant you Godly Wisdom and Strength through your journey. What is Love?

When you think of your past love, you may view it
as a failure.
>But when you find a new love, you view the past
as a teacher.
>In the game of love, it doesn't really matter who
won or who lost.
>What is important is you know when to hold on
and when to let go!
>You know you really love someone when you
want him or her to be happy, even if their
happiness means that you're not part of it.
>Everything happens for the best. If the person you
love doesn't love you back, don't be afraid to love
someone else
>You'll never love a person you love unless you risk
for love.
>Love strives in hurting. If you don't get hurt, you
don't learn how to love.
>Love doesn't hurt all the time. Though the hurting
is still there to test you, to help you grow. Don't
find love, let love find you.
>That's why it's called falling in love because you
don't force yourself to fall. You just fall.
>You cannot finish a book without closing it's
chapters.
>If you want to go on, then you have to leave the
past as you turn the pages.
>Love is not destroyed by a single failure or won by
a single caress.
>It is a lifetime venture in which we are always
learning, discovering, and growing.
>The greatest irony of love is letting go when you
need to hold on and holding on when you need to
let go.
>We lose someone we love only when we are
destined to find someone else who can love us
even more that we can love ourselves.
>On falling out of love, take some time to heal and
then get back on the horse.
>BUT DON'T EVER MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE
OF RIDING THE SAME ONE THAT THREW YOU
THE FIRST TIME.
>To love is to risk rejection, to live is to risk dying,
to hope is to risk failure.
>But risk must be taken because the greatest
hazard in life is risk nothing!
>To reach for another is to risk involvement, to
expose your feelings is to expose true self, to love
is to risk not to be loved in return

The Most Important Question

The Most Important Question

We seem to spend an enormous amount of time evaluating questions about our future: what school we'll attend, what job we will work, who we will marry, and where we will live. These are important questions and deserve careful consideration. But have we given proper thought to the question which determines our eternal future?

If the Bible is simply a collection of stories and the thoughts of crazy men, then there is no eternity and you need read no further – the next several years are all we have, so make the most of them. But if the Bible is God's direct message, then there is nothing of greater importance! His message says we continue to live long after our physical body ceases to breathe. Though we pass from this earth, we continue to live - we either live in eternal joy and peace, or eternal pain and suffering. There is no greater question: Where WILL we spend eternity?

When Jesus died, He was nailed to a cross along with two other men. These men were thieves and both mocked Jesus for claiming to be the Son of God. But at some point during those long hours on the cross, one of the men demonstrated a changed heart and had his eternal future radically altered.

Luke 23:40-41 -- "'Don't you fear God,' he said, 'since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.'"

In the last moment of life, this common thief pointed the way to eternal peace. He recognized his sin and understood he deserved death. We ALL sin and fall short of God's standard; and this sin deserves death, eternal pain and suffering. But praise God we need not dwell in this hopeless state. The thief turned from his sin, toward Jesus as the One who would conquer death; "Jesus, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom" (Luke 23:42).

Though the thief had nothing to give, he surrendered ALL. God's Word never says there are specific acts which determine our eternal future. We are simply told to believe in Jesus with such a belief that we call out with complete surrender. When the thief recognized and turned from his sin, with humility toward Jesus as his only hope, Jesus answered as He promises to answer us today; "I tell you the truth, today you will be with Me in paradise" (Luke 23:43).

In that moment the thief had his answer. No longer a thief but a Child of God, he would live forever in joy and peace. Let's not allow another day to go by without knowing where we will spend eternity! Have we recognized and turned from the sin within our heart? Have we humbly placed our life in His hands? Do we really believe? Today, let's make sure we know the answer to the most important question.

Have a Great Day!

Winning Joke

This particular joke won an award for the best joke in a competition
organized in Britain and this joke was sent by an Indian.

Banta Strikes Back!!! Banta Singh walks into a bar in Ludhiana &
orders three glasses of Beer and sits in the back of the room, drinking
a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to
the bar and orders three more.

The bartender asks him, "You know, beer goes flat after I fill it in
the glass; it would taste better if you bought one at a time."
Banta Singh replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in
Dubai, the other in Canada, and I'm here in Ludhiana. When they left
home,we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we
drank together."

The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.
Banta Singh becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same
way: He orders three Beers and drinks them in turn.
One day, he comes in and orders only two Beers. All the other regulars
notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second
round, the bartender says," I don't want to intrude on your grief, but
I wanted to offer my condolences on your great loss."

Banta Singh looks confused for a moment, then a light dawns in his eye
and he laughs. "Oh, no," he, says, "Everyone's fine - both my brothers
are alive"
"Only thing is ---- I just quit drinking"!

A Cure for Cold Weather...

Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties and had never been
married. She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all. One
afternoon the pastor called on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room.
She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea.

As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a
cut-glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom! When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat.

The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its
strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist. "Miss Beatrice", he said,
"I wonder if you would tell me about this?" pointing to the bowl.

"Oh, yes," she replied, "Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the Park
a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter."

If you don't send this to others, there will be fewer people smiling in the
world!

Something Worth Reading...

Worth reading.....

THE MAYONNAISE JAR AND COFFEE

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a
day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar... and the coffee...

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front
of him. When the class began, silently, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.

He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between
the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They
agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of
course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar
was full. The students responded with an infamous "yes."

The
professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and
poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty
space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to
recognise that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things, your family, your children, your
faith, your health, your friends and your favourite passions. Things that
if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still
be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter, your job, your
house and your car. The sand is everything else, the small stuff. "If you put
the sand into the jar first," he continued, " there is no room for the
pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small
stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to
you.
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with
your children. Take time to get medical checkups.

Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time
to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first,
the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Please share this with someone nice.

I JUST DID.

Health: Information on Rice

DON'T EAT TOO MUCH RICE

The human body was never meant to consume rice! You see, our genes have hardly changed in more than 30,000 years. However, our food choices and lifestyle have changed dramatically. The caveman would hardly recognize our food or way of life.

Caveman food was never cooked as fire was not yet tamed. Thus, he ate only those foods that you can eat without treatment with or by fire. He ate fruits, vegetables, fish (sushi anyone?), eggs, nuts and meat. Yes, even meat. You can even eat meat raw if you were starving in the forest. You have the necessary enzymes to digest meat.

However, rice, like wheat and corn, cannot be eaten raw. It must be cooked. Even if you were starving in the desert, you cannot eat rice in the raw form. This is because we do not have the system of enzymes to break rice down. You were never meant to eat rice. To make matters worse, you not only eat rice, but also make it the bulk of your food.

In some parts of Asia, rice forms up to 85% of the plate. Even if you take rice, keep it to a minimum. Remember, it is only for your tongue - not your body. Actually, rice and other grains like wheat and corn are actually worse than sugar. There are many reasons:

Rice becomes sugar - lots of it
This is a fact that no nutritionist can deny: rice is chemically no different from sugar. One bowl of cooked rice is the caloric equal of 10 teaspoons of sugar. This does not matter whether it is white, brown or herbal rice. Brown rice is richer in fibre, some B vitamins and minerals but it is still the caloric equal of 10 teaspoons of sugar. To get the same 10 teaspoons of sugar, you need to consume lots of kangkong - 10 bowls of it.

Rice is digested to become sugar.
Rice cannot be digested before it is thoroughly cooked. However, when thoroughly cooked, it becomes sugar and spikes circulating blood sugar within half an hour - almost as quickly as it would if you took a sugar candy. Rice is very low in the "rainbow of anti-oxidants"

This complete anti-oxidant rainbow is necessary for the effective and safe utilisation of sugar. Fruits come with a sugar called fructose. However, they are not empty calories as the fruit is packed with a whole host of other nutrients that help its proper assimilation and digestion.

Rice has no fibre. The fibre of the kangkong fills you up long before your
blood sugar spikes. This is because the fibre bulks and fills up your stomach. Since white rice has no fibre, you end up eating lots of "calorie dense" food before you get filled up. Brown rice has more fibre but still the same amount of sugar.

Rice is tasteless - Sugar is sweet. There is only so much that you can eat at one sitting. How many teaspoons of sugar can you eat before you feel like throwing up? Could you imagine eating 10 teaspoons of sugar in one seating?

Rice is always the main part of the meal - While sugar may fill your dessert or sweeten your coffee, it will never be the main part of any meal. You could eat maybe two to three teaspoons of sugar at one meal. However, you could easily eat the equal value of two to three bowls (20 - 30 teaspoons) of sugar in one meal. I am always amused when I see someone eat sometimes five bowls of rice (equals 50 teaspoons of sugar) and then asks for tea tarik kurang manis!

There is no real "built in" mechanism for us to prevent overeating of rice
How much kangkong can you eat? How much fried chicken can you eat? How much steamed fish can you eat? Think about that! In one seating, you cannot take lots of chicken, fish or cucumber, but you can take lots of rice. Eating rice causes you to eat more salt.

As rice is tasteless, you tend to consume more salt - another villain when it comes to high blood pressure. You tend to take more curry that has salt to help flavor rice. We also tend to consume more ketchup and soy sauce which are also rich in salt.

Eating rice causes you to drink less water. The more rice you eat, the less water you will drink as there is no mechanism to prevent the overeating of rice. Rice, wheat and corn come hidden in our daily food. As rice is tasteless, it tends to end up in other foods that substitute rice like rice flour, noodles and bread. We tend to eat the hidden forms which still get digested into sugar. Rice, even when cooked, is difficult to digest

Can't eat raw rice? Try eating rice half cooked. Contrary to popular belief, rice is very difficult to digest. It is "heavy stuff". If you have problems with digestion, try skipping rice for a few days. You will be amazed at how the problem will just go away.

Rice prevents the absorption of several vitamins and minerals. Rice when taken in bulk will reduce the absorption of vital nutrients like zinc, iron and the B vitamins.
Are you a rice addict? Going rice-less may not be easy but you can go rice-less. Eating less rice could be lot easier than you think. Here are some strategies that you can pursue in your quest to eat less rice:

Eat less rice - Cut your rice by half. Barry Sears, author of the Zone Diet, advises "eating rice like spice".

Instead, increase your fruits and vegetables.

Take more lean meats and fish.
You can even take more eggs and nuts.
Have "riceless" meals. Take no rice or wheat at say, breakfast. Go for eggs instead.

Go on "riceless" days - Go "western" once a week.
Take no rice and breads for one day every week. That can't be too difficult. Appreciate the richness of your food. Go for taste, colors and smells. Make eating a culinary delight. Enjoy your food in the original flavors.

Avoid the salt shaker or ketchup. You will automatically eat less rice.

Eat your fruit dessert before (Yes! No printing error) your meals.
The fibre rich fruits will "bulk up" in your stomach. Thus, you will eat less rice and more fruits.

King Arthur

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur's youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question?....What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.

Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have the answer.

But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree e to her price first.

The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend!

Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life.

He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur.

He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the preservation of the Round Table.

Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur's question thus:

What a woman really wants, she answered....is to be in charge of her own life.

Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur's life would be spared.

And so it was, the neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.

The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened.

The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half the time and the beautiful maiden the other half.

Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day....or night?

Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments?

What would YOU do?

What Lancelot chose is below. BUT....make YOUR choice before you scroll down below.
OKAY?

Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.

Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.

Now....what is the moral to this story?

Scroll down

The moral is.....
If you don't let a woman have her own way....
Things are going to get ugly!

How we treat ppl

Five (5) lessons to make you think about the way we treat people.

1 - First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady.

During my second month of college, our professor
gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student
and had breezed through the questions until I read
the last one:

"What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"
Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the
cleaning woman several times. She was tall,
dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name?

I handed in my paper, leaving the last question
blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if
the last question would count toward our quiz grade.

"Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers,
you will meet many people. All are significant. They
deserve your attention and care, even if all you do
is smile and say "hello."

I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her
name was Dorothy.

2. - Second Important Lesson - Pickup in the Rain

One night, at11:30 p.m., an older African American
woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway
trying to endure a lashing rainstorm. Her car had
broken down and she desperately needed a ride.
Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.
A young white man stopped to help her, generally
unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960s. The man
took her to safety, helped her get assistance, and
put her into a taxicab.

She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his
address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a
knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a
giant console color TV was delivered to his home. A
special note was attached..

It read:
"Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway
the other night. The rain drenched not only my
clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along.
Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying
husband's bedside just before he passed away... God
bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving
others."

Sincerely,
Mrs. Nat King Cole.

3 - Third Important Lesson - Always remember those
who serve.

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less,
a 10-year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and
sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in
front of him.

"How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked.

"Fifty cents," replied the waitress.

The little boy pulled is hand out of his pocket and
studied the coins in it.

"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired.

By now more people were waiting for a table and the
waitress was growing impatient.

"Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied.

The little boy again counted his coins.

"I'll have the plain ice cream," he said.

The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on
the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice
cream, paid the cashier and left. When the waitress
came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the
table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish,
were two nickels and five pennies..

You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had
to have enough left to leave her a tip.

4 - Fourth Important Lesson. - The obstacle in Our Path.

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a
roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if
anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the
king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by
and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the
King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did
anything about getting the stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of
vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the
peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the
stone to the side of the road. After much pushing
and straining, he finally succeeded. After the
peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed
a purse lying in the road where the boulder had
been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note
from the King indicating that the gold was for the
person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The
peasant learned what many of us never understand!

Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve
our condition.

5 - Fifth Important Lesson - Giving When it Counts...

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a
hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who
was suffering from a rare & serious disease. Her only
chance of recovery appeared to be a blood
transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had
miraculously survived the same disease and had
developed the antibodies needed to combat the
illness. The doctor explained the situation to her
little brother, and asked the little boy if he would
be willing to give his blood to his sister.

I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a
deep breath and saying, "Yes I'll do it if it will
save her." As the transfusion progressed, he lay in
bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did,
seeing the color returning to her cheek. Then his
face grew pale and his smile faded.

He looked up at the doctor and asked with a
trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away".

Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the
doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his
sister all of his blood in order to save her.
